INVITATION FOR A BID TO BUY SISAL FIBRE

1. INTRODUCTION

A Bidnamed Sisal catalogue No:  01/2021 is open for buying sisal fibre from Agricultural and marketing cooperative Society (AMCOs) in five estate namely Hale, Magoma, Magunga, Ngombezi and Mwelya all In Korogwe-Tanga region . The AMCOS (formed under Cooperative Act No. 6 of 2013) in these estates have capacity of producing at least 300 tone of fibre per month with Grade rations of 3l (1%). UG (69%), SSUG (21%) UF (2) TOW I (5%) AND TOW II (2%) UF (2%) TOW I (5%) and TOW Il (2%)

2. BIDDER’S QUALIFICATIONS

  • Shall have valid steal trader’s license issued by Tanzania sisal Board: International Bidders shall need to register a company in the country.
  • Should not have any history of fibre consignments or delivery complaints.
  • Should be ready to enter into a contract to purchase sisal fibre from AMCOS for a period of six (6) month from the date of winning the tender.
  • Should be ready to honor the contract of purchase sisal fiber.
  • Should know how to classify grades of sisal fiber according to Tanzania Sisal Industry Regulations 2011.
  • Should be able to purchase all sisal fibre produced by AMCOS at a price not below the markert price.

3. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The application should be accompanied with current Bank statement of at least one recent month showing a balance  of at least 1.5 billion Tanzania Shillings (or equivalent) at the day of submitting the bid.
  • The Bidder should specify prices for all fibre grades mentioned in this advert.
  • Prices quoted by the bidder shall not Include produce cess payable to local government Authorities.
  • A successful bidder shall be responsible to transport at the fibre consignment paid in full to his storage premises as shown in the invoice issued by respective AMCOS within five days.
  • Successful Bidder shall sign a contract with AMCOS within five days after winning the bid. Security of 20% of the value of the monthly bid within two (2) days from the date of signing the contract. Failure to sign the contract or effects payments to the Bid security within the specified period will nullify the successful bidder and the said bidder shall not be allowed to apply for the next two bids.
  • The bid application shall be accompanied with a deposit slip of a non- refundable fee amounting to five Hundred shillings (TZS 500,000) Paid into Tanzania sisal board bank account with account number 01J1044762800 AT CRDB Bank Tanga (swift code CORUTZTZ).
  • The sealed Bid document should be submitted in a tender box placed of the Tanzania sisal board office at Uhuru/ Usagara Avenue in MKONGE HOUSE (first floor). The applicant should register and sign on the tender registration book available during working days from 11st December 2020 from 8:00am to 03:00Pm.
  • The last day for submission of bids will be on 20th January 2021 before 10:00am. The bid documents will be opened publicly on 20/01/2021 at 10:00am just after the last time of documents submission. Bidder and/or their representative are invited to attend the opening of the bid document which will be held on 20/01/2021 just after the last time of documents submissions.
  • Late bid documents, documents submitted during opening and unopened documents will not be considered or evaluation.
