INVITATION FOR BIDS
This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for maintenance works that appeared in Tanzania Procurement Journal and PPRA Tender portal on 20th June, 2018.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) has set aside funds for operation of Maintenance Works during the financial year 2018/2019. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment under various Contracts for various Maintenance Works of Roads in Kilimanjaro Region. ‘
The Regional Coordinator, TARURA-Kilimanjaro Region on behalf of the Chief Executive, TARURA invites sealed bids from eligible Local Contractors for carrying out the Maintenance of Rural and Urban Roads. Bidding is open to a” Civil Works Contractors registered by Contractors’ Registration Board (CRB) in various class limits as shown in table below.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of the Secretary to the Delegated TARURA Regional Tender Beard, Kilimanjaro, PO. Box 7425, Moshi, NSSF Commercial Building, second floor room No. 2. E-mail: [email protected] from 8:00am to 15:30 hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.
A complete set of bidding documents and additional copies may be purchased by interested bidders at the above office, on submission of a written application to the address given above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS 150,000.00 (Tanzania Shillings One Hundred Fifty Thousand only) for each set, payable either by Banker’s Cheque or Banker’s Draft ACCOUNT NUMBER 40310063918, NMB Bank. All bids shall be accompanied with a bid securing declaration in the format provided in the bidding documents.
The deadline for submission of bids shall be at 10:00 Hours local time on Monday 27th May, 2019. Bids will be opened in public at the Regional Coordinator office Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Kilimanjaro Region, Aghakan and Florida roads junctions, NSSF Kilimanjaro Complex, Second floor, Conference Hall immediately after submission deadline and in the presence of Bidders’ representatives who choose to attend.
The arranged site visit will be conducted on 14th May, 2019 at 09:00 hours local time. Participants will meet at the offices of the TARURA Council Managers of the respective Districts. Note that, Bidders shall have to arrange for their own transport for the site visits.
All Bidders shall assemble at the TARURA Council Manager’s Office of the respective Districts at 08:30am on the date of the visit. The Pre-bid meeting will take place immediately after the site visits.
Late bids, partial bids, electronic bids, bids sent by fax/telex, bids not received, not opened and not read out in public at the bid opening ceremony shall not be considered for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
