DESIGNING AND BUILD CONTRACT FOR ELECTRIFIED STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAYS LINE FORM MWANZA TO ISAKA (249 KM MAIN LINE AND 92 KM SIDING/PASSING LOOPS) O AN ALIGNMENT PARALLEL TO THE EXISTING METER GAUGE RAILWAY LINE
- This invitation to tender follows general procurement notice which advertise via TANEPS SYSTEM www.taneps.go.tz and TRC www.trc.co.tz website on 21 July 2020
- The Government of Tanzania has a set aside funds for the design and build of the standard gauge railway from Mwanza ti Isaka Centra line on a parallel alignment to the existing meter gauge line during the financial year 2020/2021
- TRC now invites sealed tender from eligible contractor for carrying out the proposed design and bail of the standard gauge railway from Mwanza – Isaka (Centra Line) on parallel alignment to the existing meter gauge line
- Interested and eligible tenders must provide recent information of the following minimum experience
EXPERIENCE IN DETAILED DESIGN
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the details design of UIC Standard gauge railway track
- Minimum of 10 yrs experience in detailed design heavy railway civil works such as track tunnels, viaduct, flyovers, bridges
- Minimum of 10 years experience in railway track design (light rail and or heavy rail)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in railway station design (Light Rail and/Or Heavy rail)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the in design of signaling and telecommunication system ERTMS level II
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the DESIGNING of electrification railways system ( Light Rail/Heavy Rails)
- Experience with thelas 5 yrs on the detailed design of a single railway line project capital cost of at least US$1,000 Million
EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction of heavy railway civil works such as tracks tunnels, viaducts, flyover bridges etc
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the electrified rail Track and railway station construction
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction an installation of electrification railway system (light Rail/Heavy Rail)
- Minimum of 5 years cumulative experience on construction of railway line and associated facilities of minimum capital cost of US $ 1.0 Billion in Africa or other developing countries with a similar environment
FINANCIAL CAPACITY
- Minimum average turnover in the last 5 yrs on detailed designing services of US$ 60 million
- Minimum average construction turnover in the last 5 years of US $ 1.0 Billion
- Demonstrated ability to finance a minimum of US$ 200 Million of design and construction work
- A contractor will be selected in accordance with nt national competitive bidding procedures set out in the public procurement act no 7 of 2011 as amend in 2016 and the public procurement regulations 2013 government notice no 446 as mended in 2016 here in after called procurement regulations

- site visit will be held on September 22nd 2020 at 8;00 AM from ISAKA-MWANZA following a pre-tender meeting which shall held on 24 September 2020 at 10;00 AM at TRC Mwanza STATION, Contactors will be their own travel an upkeep coast while one-way rail transport from ISAKA-MWANZA shall be provides by TRC

- Electronic telegraphic telefax will not be accepted. Late submission of tenders shll not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances and will be returned to sender unopened
- TRC is not bound to accept any tender submitted an non-compile of the above sated conditions shall automatically disqualify the tender proposal
