About Lindi Jumbo Ltd Lindi Jumbo is a Tanzanian graphite mining company dedicated to sustainable mining practices, environmental responsibility, and contributing to the social and economic development of the Lindi Region. We are actively seeking an experienced Engineering Foreman to join our team and play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating engineering activities at our mining site.
About the Role As the Engineering Foreman, you will lead a team of skilled engineers and
technicians in executing maintenance, repair, and construction projects related to our mining
operations. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and quality work.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to engineering staff and monitor their progress.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, identifying maintenance needs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinating repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to source necessary materials and
equipment. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all engineering activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Train and mentor engineering staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Report to the Engineering Manager on project status and resource requirements.
Qualifications and Experience - Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Foreman or in a similar leadership role in an industrial
or mining setting. - Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in engineering activities.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities.
