Senior Accountant
Job Description
Job Summary: Senior Accountantreporting to the General Manager, is responsible for ensuring daily transactions are within the approved budget, approval of payment vouchers, overseeing / recording transactions and maintaining supporting documents while assisting the General Manager in his daily functions.
Job Description
· Receiving payment requests from the business functions.
· Ensuring the payment requests are within the approved budget. If not within the approved budget, request for approval through the General Manager.
· Invoicing to local and export customers and ensuring all payment are supported by legitimate source documents.
· Monitor and control cash floats maintained with the Cashier(s).
· Ensuring to fill and record all Payment Vouchers in TALLY system on a timely manner.
· Preparation of weekly and Monthly management Cash Flow and submission to the General Manager.
· Maintenance of Creditors and Debtors records.
· Preparation of Bank reconciliations and liaising with banks to obtain statements.
· Monitoring bank charges and exchange losses as applicable.
· Inventory management and stock reconciliation at different production levels.
· Working closely with other departments in order to control costs.
· Preparation of any other ad-hoc reports as requested by the General Manager
· Assisting the General Manager in preparation and filing of annual Financial Statements in liaison with the external auditors.
· Ensure direct and indirect tax compliances, assisting in periodical government controls/audits carried out by various Government organizations.
· Maintain relationships with banks, Government Authorities, statutory auditors, tax advisors.
· Perform all other duties as and when assigned by the management.
Requirements;
· Degree in Finance or accountancy, or relevant field
· Professional Accounting – Registered CPA by NBAA Tanzania
· At least 6 – 8 years of experience in a similar position/function.
· Preference to experience within the agriculture industry.
· Computer Knowledge: Good knowledge of MS excels and computer accounting software, such as SAP/TALLY and other relevant ERP accounting software.
· Demonstrated excellent organizational, coordinating, and personal interface skills.
· Proven job diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
· Commitment to work overtime on occasions and when required.
