Tobacco Primary Manufacturing Department (PMD) Manager

Job Description

Job Summary: PMD Manager reporting to the General Manager, is responsible for ensuring daily factory/ tobacco operations are within the approved standards, overseeing / recording cigarette manufacturing and maintaining supporting documents while assisting the General Manager in his daily functions.

. Ensure the correct implementation of production processes in a safe environment for the team based on IWS.

• Ensure product compliance with quality standards.

• Ensure the accurate implementation of the production plan.

• People management (vacation, performance evaluation, hiring, promotion, etc.).

• Hold shift meetings in the production line to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.

• Ensure the exact implementation of the rebranding process.

• Follow up on production problems and operator/technician support when needed.

• Prepare production shift reports.

• Compare performance results with established standards, identifying deviations, trends, or abnormal changes and their causes.

• Ensure that the required production in the cell is manufactured in the required time, within the laid down specifications and at the lowest cost, thus ensuring the utilization of all resources to the optimum.

• Responsible for department administration and the utilization of Human Resources.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of work experience as a production supervisor (work experience in the tobacco processing industry is an advantage).

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

• Familiar with Integrated Work System (IWS) and production processes.

• Ability to work in shifts.

• Ability to manage people.

• Strong and effective communication.

• Responsible for production personnel and having a teamwork spirit.

• The appropriate speed of action for solving production line problems, reducing interruptions in production, increasing the efficiency of devices, and reducing production waste.

• Ability to prepare relevant reports from work shifts.

. Perform all other duties as and when assigned by the management.

·  Any other related factory accomplishment tasked by the General Manager, Head office and Directors.
