Skills for Employment Tanzania (SET) is a project in Tanzania financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Corporation (SDC)through the embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania. Implemented by Swisscontact, it aims to enhance employment opportunities for youth, young women, and young mothers aged between (15-24) through improving vocational skills development (VSD) in Tanzania.

SET project envisages supporting the VSD training for youth and young mothers in the agricultural sector, in Morogoro region to give them opportunities to access (self)- employment or increased income.

Through this RfP, SET is looking to collaborate with local qualified and registered training providers to support VSD training for youth through;

  1. Vocational skills development (VSD) intervention for young mothers
  2. Vocational skills development (VSD) intervention for youth Depending on their area of interest or experience, the training provider is expected to present a proposal for either young mothers’ intervention or youth intervention.

In the project context:

  • Young mothers refer to unemployed or self-employed single or divorced/ separated/widowed women of the age 15-24, earning TZS. 150,000 or less per month and who have given birth to their first child while still attending school or dropped out of school due to early pregnancies and are actively parenting the child.
  • Youth: refers to women or men of age between 15-24, who are unemployed or self-employed, earning TZS, 150,000 or less per month, which is equivalent to approx. 2 USD per day
