SALES OF STANDING TEAK TREES BY ELECTRONIC AUCTION

The Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency will sell standing teak trees with 9,339.516 m’ located at Mtibwa Forest Plantation, Turiani in Morogoro Ragion and Longuza Forest Plantation, Muheza in Tanga Region. A total of 3,959.882 mm? and 5,379.634 will be sold at Mtibwa and Longuza Forest Plantations respectively.

1. Trees will be sold through electronic auction in accordance with Regulation 31 (ii) of the Forest Regulations (2004). The auction will take place on Tuesday 18” October, 2022 for Mtibwa Forest Plantation and Wednesday 19th October, 2022 for Longuza Forest Plantation. The auction will start at 07:00Hrs until 16:00Hrs in the evening.

2. In order to participate in the auction, the participant will be required to register through the following address hitp://mis.tfs.go.tz/e-auction from the date of this advertisement until midnight (00-00Hrs) of 15th October, 2022 on Saturday. 3. Participants are invited to inspect the standing trees in the field during working hours from 9:00Hrs lo 15:00Hrs local time on Monday to Friday except holidays. The inspection will last from the date of advertisement to 15th October, 2022 on Saturday. The Principal Conservator of respective Forest Plantation or staff appointed by the Conservator will be available be provide additional information on plots including harvesting conditions.

Conditions for participating in this auction

The participant must register and cont his/her participation and therefore she will have agreed be the following terms: –

1. Each Plot will be auctioned exclusively depending on its price and existing volume.

2.  A participant shall be able to confirm his/her participation after registration up to at least five (5) minutes (at 06:55H1rs) before auction start time.

NB: Confirmation during the auction will automatically be rejected.

3. All payments should be made through banks or financial service providers’ networks after receiving a bill generated by the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG) that will be available in the participant’s account in the electronic auction system.

4. The successful participant shall pay twenty-five percent (25 %) of the total value within three (3) working days counted after the day of the auction, which is non-refundable if the buyer fails to pay the remaining balance within the prescribed payment period. The buyer will be allowed to pay more than 25% of the value for any plot once have she has completed initial payments of 25% for all bought pots. The remaining seventy-five percent (75 %) shall be paid within fourteen (14) days from the date of the auction.

5. All successful participants should note that it is prohibited to export the logs as per regulation 50 (1) of the Forest Regulations of 2004.

6. The successful participant shall submit lo the Forest Plantation Conservator evidence of the deposited amount not later than three (3) days after payment.

7. The successful buyer is obliged to clear-fell and remove the volume of trees awarded within a period of sixty days after payment of the total value. However, in case of challenges be it technical or natural; an official letter must be submitted to the respective Forest Plantation Conservator for considerations.

8. The standing teak trees are to be sold on “as is where is” basis and TFS shall have no further liability after the sales.

Roles and responsibilities of TFS

The Agency (TFS) will;

1. Allocate plots for sale as shown in Table 1 and Table 2 with floor prices inclusive of ‘Royalty’ and ‘CESS’ and;

2. Award a winning letter and bill to the highest bidder in each plot just after auction lime lapse.

Plots of teak trees for Sale

Lots with plots will be set to appear for two hours for each forest plantation.

Upon completion of plots’ sale in each lot, the unsold plots will be arranged in one lot that will be auctioned in the last two hours of the auction for each forest plantation.
