GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has applied for financing In the amount of US$150 million equivalents from the World Bank towards the cost of the Second Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project (TIRP-2), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds for payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will Include the following components:

COMPONENT A: Strengthening of Railway Infrastructure and Support of Design Studies

Dar as Salaam to Tabora Infrastructure safety strengthening (840.172 Km)

a) Track Refurbishment: improvement of railway crossings and track fenc’nq at townships

  • Rehabilitation and repairs to weak river crossing bridges
  • Design and supervision

Rehabilitation of Tabora leaks station (135 km)

  1. Complete track renewal
  2. Bridges repair/rehabilitation
  3. Design and supervision

Improvement of Interrnodai Terminals

  1. Ilala Terminal
  2. (sake Terminal
  3. Design and supervision

Railway Design Studios

  1. Design studies for Kilosa – Gulwe – Iganou (12C km)and
  2. Design studies for other TRC lines

COMPONENT B: Operational and Institutional Support Operational Support

  1. Management support the TRC to implement the Business Plan
  2. Operationalization of Train Control/Warrant system
  3. Open access operational support
  4. Asset management

Procurement of Contracts I inanced by the World Rank wiff be conducted through the procedures as specified In the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for 1PF Borrowers” Fourth Edition, November 2020 (Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

Specific Procurement Notices for contracts to be bid under the World Banks International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for Consultancy Services will be announced, as they become available, In UN Development Business and dg Market, In regional and local newspapers In Tanzania and In the Tanzania National e-Procurement System (TANePS).

Some of procurement activities for the project will be processed through TANePS. Thus. an prospective bidders interested to participate in bid opportunities under this project are required to be registered as users of the system. The registration is open to all local and international bidders. Bidders already registered to use TANePS need not register again.
