INVITATION FOR TENDERS

1. This invitation for tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the PPRA tenders portal dated 03″ June, 2019.
2. The Government of Tanzania has set aside funds for the operation of the MTWARA URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AUTHORITY (MTUWASA) during the financial year 2019/2020. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment under the contract for the CONSTRUCTION OF RAPID SAND FILTER AT MANGAMBA IN MTWARA TOWN.
3. The MTWARA URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AUTHORITY (MTUWASA) now invites sealed Tenders from eligible national contractors registered or capable of being registered in class[IIV] for carrying out the CONSTRUCTION OF RAPID SAND FILTER AT MANGAMBA IN MTWARA TOWN
4. Tendering will be conducted through the NATIONAL COMPETITIVE TENDERING specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, Government Notice No.446 of 2013 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations unless otherwise stated in the Tender Data Sheet.
5. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the Secretary of the Tender Board, Mtwara Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority, Railway/Industrial Area, P. 0. Box 141 Mtwara, Tanzania. Phone number 023-2333596 Fax 0232333079 from 08:30am to 03:30 on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.
6. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers 0n the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 5 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of one hundred thousand Tanzania Shillings only(100,000/=). Payment should either be by Cash, Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque, payable to MANAGING DIRECTOR, MTUWASA.
7. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender securing declaration in the format provided in the Tendering documents unless otherwise stated in the T ender Data Sheet.
8. All Tenders in one original plus two copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address Secretary of the Tender Board, Mtwara Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority, Railway/Industrial Area, P.O.Box 141 Mtwara, Tanzania, Phone number 0225-2333596 F ax 0225-2333079 at or before Tuesday 3th September, 2019 at 11:00 am. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the Opening at the Mtwara Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MTUWASA) Board Room, Industrial area, P. 0. BOX 141, Mtwara, Tanzania.
9. Late Tenders portion of T enders, electronic Tenders, Tenders not received, Tenders not opened at the Tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
