This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online(UNDB online)AfDB3401/15 of 20‘h January,2015 and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdborg). Also in the VETA General Procurement Notice which appeared in the Daily Newspaper Issue No.00000149-035 dated 7‘“ August, 2018
The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has received loan from the African Development Bank (ADB) in various currencies towards the cost of Support to Technical Vocational Education and Training and Teacher Education (STVET TE) Project is intended that part of the Proceeds of this Loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Njombe Regional Vocational Training and Service Center (RVTSC) in Ludewa District.
The Vocational Education Training Authority of Tanzania (VETA) who is the Implementing Agency, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Building Contractors registered with Contractor’s Registration Board (CRB) Class | for the Construction of: Njombe Regional Vocational Training and Service Center.
National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Works: May 2008 edition revised July 201 2.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at VETA head office to the following address:

A complete Bidding Document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 4 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tshs 250,000.00. Payment should be through Government electronic Payment Gateway (GePG) upon obtaining the control number from VETA Head (Finance Department)
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works, Smaller Contracts.
Bids must be delivered to The Secretary, VETA Tender Board, Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) Chang’ombe Road off Nyerere Road in Chang’ombe Area -Dar es Salaam;Tanzania on or before 1 1 .00 hours local time on 2nd May, 2019and must be accompanied with a bid security in original and in acceptable form in the amount of Tanzania Shillings 100,000,000.00 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The bid Security shall be clearly addressed to: The Director General, Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), P. O. Box 2849, Dar es Salaam.
Bids shall remain valid for One Hundred and Twenty (1 20) days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.
Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend immediately after the deadline for submission of bids at Morgan Manyanga Conference Hall VETA Head Office; Dar es Salaam; Tanzania.
