Invitation for Tenders
Date: 12th April 2019
1. This Invitation for Tender follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the Projects which appears on Daily News, Tender Portal and Procurement Journal dated 13/10/2017
2. The Government of Tanzania has set aside funds for the operation of the TARURA –Iringa Region during the financial year 2017/2018. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment under the contract for the Construction of Tosamaganga Bridge (20m Span) along Mapogoro – Ugwachanya Road in Iringa District– Phase I, Tender No. AE/092/2017-2018/IDC/W/16
3. The Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) an Agency of the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government hereinafter referred to as the Employer now invites sealed tenders from eligible National contractors registered by Contractors Registration Board (CRB) in Class Five (V) and Above as Civil Engineering Contractors registered for construction of the project mentioned above.
4. The Works consists of Construction of Tosamaganga Bridge (20m Span) along Mapogoro – Ugwachanya Road in Iringa District – Phase I with the following estimated quantities for major works items are:

5. Tendering will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) a procedure specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 – Government Notice No. 446 as amended in 2016 and is open to national Tenderers only as defined in the Regulations unless otherwise stated in the Tender Data Sheet.
6. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the The Secretary, Delegated TARURA Regional Tender Board Iringa Region located at Old TANROADS Office Building, PMU Office, nearby Iringa Magereza; from07:30 am to 03:30pm local time on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.
7. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English language and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 5 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tsh 150,000.00. Payment should either be by Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque, payable Regional Coordinator TARURA – Iringa Coordination Office, P. O. Box 1027, Iringa or direct deposit or telegraphic transfer to the bank account:

8. Tenders shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Tender opening, and must be accompanied by a “Tender Securing Declaration” in the format provided in the Tendering Document.
9. All Tenders in one original plus Three (03) copies properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address The Secretary, Delegated TARURA Regional Tender Board Iringa Region, Old TANROADS Office Building, PMU Office, nearby Iringa Magereza at or before Tuesday 30th April, 2019 on or before 10:00 Hours local time.
The outer cover of each tender must be clearly marked as:
“Construction of Tosamaganga Bridge (20m Span) along Mapogoro – Ugwachanya Road in Iringa District– Phase I, Tender No. AE/092/2017-2018/IDC/W/16”.
10. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the Conference Room at TARURA Iringa Regional Coordination Office in Old TANROADS Office Building located nearby Iringa Magereza
11.The arranged site visit will be conducted on 17th April, 2019 at 09:00 hours local time. Participants will meet at the Office of the TARURA Council Manager Iringa District followed by Pre tendering meeting.
12. Late tenders, portion of tenders, electronic tenders, tenders not received, tenders not opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstance
