Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
• Tracking company fleet and supervising drivers
• Supervise fueling and repairs of vehicles
• Purchasing spare parts and ensuring the vehicles are wellmaintained
• Ensure strict compliance with company regulations bydrivers
• Identify on-road exceptions and take immediate remedialaction including coordinating and responding to emergency situations
• Liaise with drivers, operations personnel, and Management
• Develop and present daily management reports relating tovehicle utilization and drivers
• Monitor drivers’ performance by Identifying poor
trendsand driving behavior through real-time and weekly system reports
and alerts.
• Analyze operational efficiency of each vehicle in
terms ofidle time, stop time, etc. as a percentage to identify any
underutilizedvehicles on monthly basis.
• Make a comparison of the mapped route vs. the
actual routefollowed on each day and take follow-up action to find out
the cause of the deviation.
Fuel consumption management and transportation cost(cost/km/ ton) controlling
Transportation emergency (Damage or accident) management
Monitor outside policy change and access internal impact andpropose a solution.
• Any other supervisory duties
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
• A Bachelor’sdegree or above in Transportation, logistics management, or other relatedmajors.
• 5 years’ work experience as a Logistics/TransportSupervisor in a busy fleet company
• Have a good knowledge ofTANZANIA transportation and road management rules and laws.
• Familiar with road management rules and costcontrol.
• Alert and keen on details.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Good report writing skills with the ability to providetimely and accurate reports
• Good record keeping skills and computer skills
• Ability to supervise a team
• Flexibility as the job may entail long working hours
