CALL FOR PROPOSAL TO DESIGN BIOMETRIC SIGNATURE SYSTEM

Introduction

World Wide Funds for nature (WWF) Tanzania country office is an international non-governmental organization which is working to ensure that humans live in harmony with nature. In Tanzania WWF performs various projects and programs in the priority landscapes i.e., SOKNOT, Water Tower, Ruvuma, and RUMAKI Seascape. In programs and projects execution WWF is working with various stakeholders i.e., governments at different tiers which includes local, regional and central, communities, private sectors, media and civil society organizations. WWF Tanzania, aims at procuring a Biometric system that will automate the process of Registration of participants who will be attending our field activities, it is envisioned that the system should be able Capture various details and generate reports thereof. Specific objectives of the project are not limited to only developing a new system that can meet the needs but also look at systems which are currently existing and can be adapted to suit the WWF environment. The project looks at developing a system that will be highly customized to fit into the WWF Tanzania environment, which will be installed in the WWF Tanzania server and will be fully owned and controlled by WWF Tanzania.

Objective of the Assignment

The main objective of the assignment is to improve our processes during stakeholders’ meetings and workshops. The assignment will focus on automating and speeding up time taken in recording participants’ attendance which will also include automations around recording, storing and summarizing meeting and/or workshop costs.

Expected Deliverables

The consultant(s) selected to undertake this project will be expected to deliver the following; i. Get in-depth understanding of WWF Tanzania processes ii. Demonstration of the proposed system prior to engagement iii. Development and customization of the system iv. Web based system with at-least two additional client-side options to connect the biometric gadgets: 1) Smartphone app (Android, i0S) 2) Windows v. Installation of the system in WWF Server and Biometric Gadgets vi. Training to users vii. Users’ acceptance test (UAT) viii. System signoff certificate ix. User manual x. After sales services/support Qualification and Skills

A registered Information Technology Companies and/or individuals with minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in computer and database programming related fields a) At least 5 years of Internet of Things (loT) systems, software and/or application development preferably in international organizations b) Proven track records in database designing c) Tangible reference and portfolio of previous similar assignments is a must.
